DMV
Drag Story Hour celebrates reading through the glamorous art of drag. Our DMV chapter creates diverse, accessible, and culturally inclusive family programming where kids can express their authentic selves and become bright lights of change in their communities.
We envision a world where kids can learn from LGBTQ+ stories and experiences to love themselves, celebrate the fabulous diversity in their communities, and stand up for what they believe in and each other.
DSH DMV was founded in 2019 in Silver Spring, MD. Initially sponsored by WAM & Fam, a local parents group, our chapter now partners with libraries, schools, small businesses, and more to bring fabulous story hours to the public for free. The Montgomery County, MD chapter merged with the Baltimore and D.C. chapters in 2022, becoming the D.C. Metro and Surrounding Areas Chapter.
