Position Overview
The Special Assistant to the CEO is a multifaceted self-starter who will provide high-level support to The Executive Director of Live In Your Truth & CEO of The Montgomery County Pride Family—MoCo Pride Center, Inc., in all aspects of their professional life. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, a critical eye, attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. The Special Assistant will serve as a key representative of The CEO and the Montgomery County Pride Family, ensuring the organization’s success and amplifying its presence in the community.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Support:
Manage The CEO’s complex schedule, including meetings, events, and travel arrangements.
Prepare briefing materials, agendas, and talking points for meetings, speaking engagements, and media appearances.
Draft and proofread correspondence, reports, and other documents on behalf of The CEO.
Manage CEO and organization social media accounts in conjunction with marketing teams
Program and Event Assistance:
Attend all programs, events, and speaking engagements with The CEO, providing on-site support and ensuring seamless execution.
Assist in planning and coordinating events, including logistics, vendor management, and attendee communication.
Media Production Support:
Provide logistical and administrative support for The CEO’s work as a local TV producer, director, writer, and host.
Assist with research, script preparation, and coordination for media projects.
Help manage production schedules, ensuring deadlines are met and projects align with organizational goals.
Staff and Organizational Support:
You are a leader! Assist in managing staff, including delegation, communication, and performance tracking.
Serve as The CEO’s voice in their absence, ensuring alignment with their vision and priorities.
Support the development and implementation of organizational policies and procedures.
Community and Stakeholder Engagement:
Represent The CEO and the Montgomery County Pride Family at community events and meetings.
Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including donors, partners, and government officials.
Build and maintain relationships with members of our Boards.
Strategic Initiatives:
Support The CEO in achieving their vision for transformative community programs, including the development of Pride Resource Centers as safe, inclusive spaces for the LGBTQIA+ community.
Assist in producing high-caliber media and programming that reflects the organization’s commitment to excellence and innovation.
Conduct research, prepare grant applications, and assist in fundraising efforts.
Transportation and Logistics:
Provide reliable transportation for The CEO and other partners, ensuring punctuality and professionalism.
Maintain a clean driving record and ensure the vehicle is always in excellent condition.
Regular daily local travel
Confidentiality and Discretion:
Handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality and professionalism.
Ensure all communications and actions reflect the values and mission of the Montgomery County Pride Family.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
Exceptional leadership skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and project management tools.
Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record.
Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Passion for LGBTQIA+ advocacy and community empowerment.
Experience or interest in media production is a plus but not required.
